What is the Ark River Water Festival (ARWF)?

  • The ARWF is held in Garden City, KS at Bernadine Sitts Intermediate Center and Charles O. Stones Intermediate Center.

  • The next ARWF will be in April/May, 2018.

  • It is a two day event that educates 5th and 6th grade students from Finney, Gray, and Kearny County schools on the conservation of our natural resources.

  • It is a fun way to teach younger students about conservation.

  • Students learn the importance of conservation through the multiple classes and activities they participate in throughout the day.

  • Students are able to take home the information given to them to share with their parents and family and inform them of the importance of conservation. We are not only reaching the students but also the parents and families.

How to get Involved...

  • One good way to get involved with the Ark River Water Festival would be to volunteer your time to help out with the Water Festival. You could volunteer to do a activity (either you can provide one or we can provide one for you), set-up and tear-down, as well as many other opportunities. If you would like to volunteer please contact us @ 620-275-0211 ext.3.

  • Another way to get involved would be to donate to the Ark River Water Festival. Your donations support conservation education. Make checks payable to the Finney County Conservation District (2106 E. Spruce St., Garden City).
